David was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. He has studied in Montreal, Toronto, and Seoul, South Korea. Ordained in 2000, David served Essex Presbytery of London Conference as Youth and Young Adult Minister and Mandaumin/Burns-Mooreline Pastoral Charge near Sarnia, Ontario. In 2005 he and his family, including his spouse HyeRan and children Noah and Hannah, were commissioned to serve as overseas personnel in South Korea for the United Church of Canada. They returned in the summer of 2008 and one year later David was called to Grosvenor Park United Church in a ministry of Word, Sacrament and Pastoral Care.
David has a passion for energetic, inter-generational worship that draws from world-wide traditions of music and involves kinesthetic and multi-sensory dimensions of human experience. He is thrilled to be leading an affirming congregation which has taken a role in promoting a church and society that is accepting and supportive of Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgendered, Questioning and Queer people. He is committed to the welcoming and sharing ministries of Grosvenor Park United Church and is interested in ways that we, as a faith community, can live with respect in Creation.
